Cruise along the Alanya coastline, explore Damlataş Cave, Phosphorus Cave, and Lovers' Cave. Swim in crystal-clear Mediterranean waters with views of Alanya Castle from the sea. BBQ lunch on board. Transfer from your hotel to the harbour is arranged, so you can leave the car parked for the day. The boat anchors for several swim stops between the caves, and the best view of the castle rock comes from the water rather than the deck rail, so keep a waterproof camera handy. Shade on board is limited: a hat, sun cream and a light cover-up make the middle of the day far more pleasant.

Explore the magnificent 13th-century red-stone fortress perched on Alanya's peninsula, then descend into the breathtaking Damlatas Cave with its natural limestone formations and therapeutic air quality. Complete your historical journey at the restored medieval Shipyard (Tersane), showcasing centuries of maritime construction heritage. The walk between the outer gate and the Ehmedek keep climbs a fair few hundred metres of cobbled ramp, which is why the minibus takes you to the upper car park first and you descend rather than climb. Damlataş cave stays around 22°C year-round with very humid air — asthmatics traditionally come here for exactly that reason.

Discover the spectacular Dim Cave with its stunning underground stalactites and stalagmites formations that glitter in the subterranean darkness. Float peacefully down the emerald Dim River in a traditional wooden boat, surrounded by dramatic canyon walls and lush Mediterranean vegetation for a serene nature experience. Inside the cave it holds a steady 18–20°C while the coast bakes, so the 360 steps down feel like walking into a fridge — bring something with sleeves. Afterwards the tour stops at the Dimçay river platforms, where restaurants set their tables directly in the running water.

Walk through the lush Sapadere Canyon along wooden boardwalks and natural pools. Visit an authentic Turkish mountain village, taste local honey and homemade gözleme. A peaceful escape from the beach resorts. Hotel pickup along the Alanya coast is included, and the mountain road up to the canyon is scenic in its own right. The boardwalk is level and shaded, which makes it manageable for children and older travellers, though the rock underfoot is wet in places — closed shoes grip far better than flip-flops. Mornings are cooler and quieter, and the water is most inviting in high summer.

Explore the charming Kaleiçi old town, visit Düden and Kurşunlu waterfalls, see Hadrian's Gate, the Clock Tower, and enjoy panoramic views from the old harbor marina. Professional English-speaking guide. Your driver collects you from the hotel, so there is no parking to worry about in the narrow lanes of the old town. Expect a fair amount of walking on uneven stone, a little spray at the falls and several natural photo stops, which makes it a good first day for anyone new to the city. Mornings are cooler and the harbour quieter; late afternoon gives warmer light over the cliffs.

The ground truth
Alanya sits at the eastern end of the Antalya coast, where the mountains push right down to the sea and a Seljuk castle occupies the headland between two beaches. It is the furthest of the big resort towns from Antalya Airport — but Gazipasa Airport is only a short run along the coast, which changes the arithmetic for anyone who can choose their flight.
Measured driving distance, not straight-line. Displayed fares are active Economy Van rules per vehicle.
165 Alanya hotels sit in our pickup index, so your driver gets the entrance, not the district.
Alanya is not a suburb of Antalya - it is its own sun-drunk town, about 125 km east along the coast, built around a limestone headland that splits the sea into two perfect bays. We are a family-run transfer company based in Antalya, and most of our drivers have been running this coastal road for years; we know Alanya from the windscreen, not from a brochure.
The town takes its name from the Seljuk Sultan Alaeddin Keykubad, who captured the fortress-topped peninsula in 1221 and rebuilt it into one of the Mediterranean's great medieval ports. Today that same peninsula, crowned by Alanya Castle, still divides the town: Cleopatra Beach curves away on one side, the old harbour and the Red Tower sit on the other, and between them a lively seafront boulevard lined with palms carries the everyday life of a modern resort city that now welcomes holidaymakers from Northern Europe, Germany, and Russia every summer.
Alanya Castle (Alanya Kalesi) rings the whole peninsula with roughly 6.5 km of Seljuk-era walls; inside you will find the Ehmedek bastion, the ruins of a Byzantine church, and the best panoramic view on this coast. A taxi gets you up the hill in 10-15 minutes, or you can ride the cable car that climbs from near Damlataş.
Down at the harbour, the octagonal Red Tower (Kızıl Kule), built in 1226, is the town's unmistakable symbol, standing next to the old Tersane shipyard with its stone arches.
Damlataş Cave, right in the centre, is famous for its humid, mineral-rich air - visitors with respiratory conditions have sworn by it for decades. Just outside it lies Cleopatra Beach, the soft golden sand that legend says Cleopatra had shipped in as a gift for Mark Antony.
A short drive east of town, Dim Cave and the Dim River are a favourite summer escape - cold spring water, rafting, and floating on tubes under the plane trees. Further inland, about 40 km north, Sapadere Canyon has wooden walkways threading through a cool gorge, a popular half-day trip by taxi. History buffs can also add the small Alanya Archaeological Museum and the Atatürk House Museum to the list - both sit inside or near the castle walls, barely ten minutes from most central hotels.
Boat trips around the headland visit Lovers' Cave, Pirates' Cave, and the Phosphorus Cave, and an evening stroll along Atatürk Boulevard, ending with fresh fish at the harbour, is the classic way to close out an Alanya day. Further west, the long sands of Incekum beach give a quieter, pine-backed alternative, still only a 30-minute taxi ride from the centre.
Alanya is really a string of neighbourhoods along the shore rather than one single centre. Oba and Kestel sit closest to downtown, everything walkable. Head east and you reach Mahmutlar, almost a town of its own with its own market and beach, and quieter Kargıcak beyond it. West of the castle, Konaklı and Avsallar are long-standing favourites with British and German holidaymakers, while Türkler and Okurcalar sit near the long sands of Incekum. Wherever your hotel falls on that line, it makes no difference to us - we drive this corridor every single day, in both directions.
We run regular transfers to Kleopatra Royal Palm, Hedef Kleopatra Goldensun, and Lonicera City, among many other hotels across central Alanya and the surrounding districts. Your driver waits inside the terminal holding a sign with your name and hotel, helps with your bags, and takes you straight to the door - no changing vehicles, no searching for a taxi rank. Kleopatra Royal Palm and Hedef Kleopatra Goldensun both sit within easy walking distance of Cleopatra Beach, while Lonicera City puts you closer to the everyday buzz of the town centre - either way, your transfer price and pickup time are confirmed the moment you book, not negotiated on arrival.
The drive from Antalya Airport (AYT) to Alanya covers about 125 km along the D-400 coastal road through Manavgat and Side, and normally takes 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic and time of day. We quote one fixed price at booking - a fixed fare confirmed at booking - door to door, and it does not change if your flight is delayed or you land at 3am. We track your flight number and wait for you however late you arrive, free of charge.
Swimming season in Alanya runs from April into November, and the bay tends to stay a touch warmer than central Antalya because it is sheltered from the wind. In July and August both the airport and the D-400 get busy, so we build extra time into evening pickups as a rule, not an exception. Local dolmuş minibuses cover the coast cheaply, but with luggage, children, or a late arrival, a door-to-door transfer is simply the easiest way in - which is exactly why we have been doing this run, safely and honestly, for years, in both directions.
