Side is a Roman harbour town that never got out of the way of its own ruins: the main street runs between colonnades, and the Temple of Apollo stands on the point where the peninsula ends. Modern Side spreads either side into Colakli, Kumkoy and Evrenseki, which is where most of the hotels actually are.
