Dalaman Airport to Fethiye private transfer

Fethiye sits on Turkey's southwest coast in Muğla province, where pine-covered mountains — Akdağ and Babadağ — drop almost straight into a wide, sheltered bay. The town is built over the ancient Lycian city of Telmessos, and you can still see rock-cut Lycian tombs carved into the cliff face right above the modern centre, the best known being the Tomb of Amyntas. Fethiye has a working yacht marina lined with gulets waiting to sail on a "blue cruise," and a completely different, older side in the Paspatur old town, with its narrow lanes, Tuesday market and fish market where you buy your catch and have it grilled next door. The small Fethiye Museum in the centre holds Lycian and Roman finds from around the region, and the famous Lycian Way long-distance trail runs right through town. About 20 minutes by taxi from central Fethiye is Ölüdeniz, one of Turkey's most photographed bays, home to the turquoise Blue Lagoon and Belcekız Beach, with paragliders drifting down from Babadağ mountain above it. The road in winds through the hills, and most of our guests find it far more relaxing to book a fixed-price transfer than to navigate it themselves. Nearby is Kayaköy (Karmylassos), a Greek village abandoned in the 1920s population exchange — hundreds of stone houses and two ruined churches left exactly as they were, open to wander through. Closer to the centre, Çalış Beach is a quieter, sunset-famous stretch with a long seafront promenade where locals take their evening walk, and on a clear day you can make out the lights of Rhodes across the water.

Fethiye works well as a base for day trips. Saklıkent Gorge is about an hour away by taxi — one of Turkey's deepest canyons, where you wade through ice-cold meltwater between towering rock walls before stopping for grilled trout at the wooden platforms by the entrance. On the coast, Butterfly Valley and Gemiler Island (with its ruined Byzantine church, linked to the legend of St Nicholas) can only be reached by boat, and tours leave from Fethiye harbour daily in season, along with the classic Twelve Islands boat trip, which usually stops for swimming at coves like Red Island and Cold Water Bay. History lovers can reach the ancient city of Tlos in about 45 minutes by taxi, and further out, the UNESCO-listed ruins of Xanthos and Letoon, plus Patara Beach — one of the longest sand beaches on the Mediterranean and a nesting site for loggerhead turtles.

Fethiye's gateway airport is Dalaman (DLM), roughly 50 km from town — about 45 to 60 minutes' drive depending on traffic, and closer to 70-80 minutes if you're headed all the way to Ölüdeniz. We track your flight, so even a late-night arrival is met by our driver holding a sign with your name at the terminal. The price is fixed from the moment you book: a fixed fare confirmed at booking, with no meter and no surprise extras. We take you door to door straight to your hotel, and we can arrange the return transfer the same way, in advance, whether you're travelling as a couple or a larger family with extra luggage.

Central Fethiye is easy to explore on foot, but the dolmuş (shared minibus) between Ölüdeniz, Kayaköy and Saklıkent can take far longer than a direct transfer, especially once you factor in waiting. Roads get busy in the afternoon during the summer season, so we recommend booking your airport transfer with a bit of lead time. The most comfortable months to visit are April to June and September to October; July and August are hot and busy, and many seafront hotels close for winter.
