Explore the charming Kaleiçi old town, visit Düden and Kurşunlu waterfalls, see Hadrian's Gate, the Clock Tower, and enjoy panoramic views from the old harbor marina. Professional English-speaking guide. Your driver collects you from the hotel, so there is no parking to worry about in the narrow lanes of the old town. Expect a fair amount of walking on uneven stone, a little spray at the falls and several natural photo stops, which makes it a good first day for anyone new to the city. Mornings are cooler and the harbour quieter; late afternoon gives warmer light over the cliffs.

Visit three of Turkey's most impressive ancient sites in one day. Walk through Perge's colonnaded streets, see Aspendos Theatre (one of the best-preserved Roman theaters in the world), and explore Side's Temple of Apollo. Hotel pick-up and return in an air-conditioned vehicle are included, so the long stretches between the three sites stay comfortable. Set aside plenty of walking time on uneven marble and stone, and bring a hat, sunscreen and water — shade is scarce around midday. Spring and autumn suit this route best, and an early start keeps you ahead of the coach groups.

The ground truth
39 Oba hotels sit in our pickup index, so your driver gets the entrance, not the district.
Oba is a lively beachfront neighbourhood just east of Alanya's town centre, a few minutes' drive from the old harbour and castle hill. It's one of the busiest residential-meets-holiday districts on this stretch of the Turkish Riviera - a long stretch of golden sand, a promenade lined with cafés, and enough apartment blocks and hotels to feel like a small town of its own. We've been running transfers to Oba for years, and what strikes most first-time visitors is how normal and lived-in it feels - this isn't a purpose-built resort bubble, it's a real Alanya neighbourhood where thousands of expats, plenty of them Russian, German and Scandinavian, have put down roots alongside the seasonal holidaymakers.
Oba's beach is really a continuation of Alanya's main coastline, the same fine golden sand that runs west toward Cleopatra Beach, just quieter once you're past the town-centre crowds. The shallow, calm entry into the water makes it a solid pick for families with young children. Along the main coastal road you'll find supermarkets, pharmacies, currency exchange offices, kebab houses and fish restaurants - everything you need without hopping in a taxi every time. Oba has grown fast over the last decade, with new residential complexes going up almost every year, so don't be surprised if your hotel sits among cranes and half-finished buildings; the area is very much still expanding.
The best thing about staying in Oba is how close you are to everything worth seeing in Alanya. It's a short taxi ride from Oba - usually 10 to 15 minutes - to Alanya Castle (Alanya Kalesi), the Seljuk-era fortress on the peninsula with sweeping views over the bay and the harbour's iconic Red Tower (Kızıl Kule) below it. From there it's an easy walk down to Cleopatra Beach and the nearby Damlataş Cave, famous for its stalactites and the mild, humid air said to help asthma sufferers. Guests who want a change of scenery often ask us for a taxi from Oba to Dim River (Dim Çayı) and Dim Cave, about 20-25 minutes inland - a cool riverside spot with floating restaurants and one of the region's largest show caves. For a longer day trip, Sapadere Canyon is a popular request, and in the evening the restaurants around Alanya Marina and the old harbour are an easy taxi hop from your hotel.
We drive to Oba hotels on a near-daily basis, so we know the streets, check-in desks and drop-off points better than most. We regularly run transfers to North Point Hotel and Ananas Hotel right on the beachfront strip, and families heading to Avena Hotel & Spa or Banana Beach Club Hotel often ask us for extra luggage space given the pushchairs and beach gear. Blue Diamond Alya and Elysee Hotel are two more addresses we visit often, both popular for their easy beach access. Whichever hotel you've booked, our driver waits at arrivals with a name board and takes you straight to reception - no shuttle bus, no waiting on other passengers.
Let's be upfront: Antalya Airport to Oba is roughly 116 km, and depending on traffic the drive takes between 1.5 and 2 hours. Alanya's district is one of the furthest coastal resorts from the airport, so anyone promising a 45-minute transfer isn't being honest with you. The route runs almost entirely on the D400/D695 dual carriageway though, so it's a smooth, predictable drive rather than a slow one.
We're not a big fleet with a call centre - we're a small, Antalya-based family business, and the same drivers who meet you at arrivals check the flight status boards before your plane even lands. Because we run this Oba transfer route so often, we know which hotel receptions stay open late, where traffic tends to build up on the D400 in summer, and which times to avoid on Friday evenings. Landing at 3am doesn't cost extra, and we'll happily arrange your return transfer to the airport at the same time - just send us your flight number and hotel name.
