Antalya Airport to Olympos & Çıralı private transfer

Tucked into the pine-covered hills at the southern edge of Kemer, inside the Beydağları Coastal National Park, Olympos and Çıralı are two small villages that share a beach and an ancient city but have almost opposite personalities. Olympos is backpacker country — treehouse bungalows, campfire dinners, a scruffy, laid-back energy that's barely changed in decades. Çıralı, a short walk up the same sand, is quieter and greener: orange and pomegranate groves running right up to small family-run hotels, a long protected beach where loggerhead turtles still nest every summer.

What keeps the area special is what's missing: no high-rise hotels, no strip of bars, no beach clubs blasting music. The narrow road that drops down from the D400 highway through the forest does the filtering for you — by the time you reach the bottom, you've left the resort world behind. We've been driving this road for years and know every bend of it, including the ones drivers new to the area tend to slow down for or miss in the dark.

Olympos's ruins spread along both banks of the stream that runs down to the beach — a Lycian necropolis, bathhouse remains, a theatre, and a temple gate half-swallowed by fig trees. You walk through the ruins on your way to the sea, which is a genuinely rare combination in Turkey: ancient city and beach on the same footpath.

The treehouse bungalows that Olympos is famous for are simple wooden pansiyons, most with dinner included, tucked along paths too narrow for a car. When your driver drops you off, expect the last stretch — sometimes a hundred metres, sometimes more — to be on foot; we're used to it and happy to help carry bags that last bit.

Above Çıralı, on the lower slopes of Mount Olympos, sits one of the strangest natural sights in this part of the world: the Chimaera, known locally as Yanartaş. Natural gas seeping through cracks in the rock has been burning continuously for centuries — dozens of small flames scattered across a bare hillside. A short, easy 20-30 minute walk from the car park gets you there, and most visitors go at dusk or after dark, when the flames are at their most striking. A taxi to the car park and back is by far the easiest way to do it, especially since walking down into the village afterwards in the dark isn't something most people enjoy.

A few more places fill out a day trip nicely, all an easy taxi ride from either village:

• Adrasan Bay — a quieter beach village just south of Olympos, about half an hour by taxi.
• Phaselis — the ancient harbour city with three bays, north toward Kemer, good for combining ruins with a swim.
• Tahtalı Dağı cable car — near Tekirova, climbing to 2,365 metres for a genuinely dramatic view over the whole coast.
• Ulupınar trout restaurants — near Beycik, wooden platforms built right over the stream, a classic stop on the way to or from Kemer.
• The Lycian Way — the long-distance trail passes directly through Olympos and Çıralı; we regularly drop hikers at trailheads for shorter sections.

Antalya Airport (AYT) to Olympos or Çıralı is roughly 80 km, which usually works out to 1.5-2 hours depending on traffic and exactly which hotel you're headed to. The last stretch — a narrow, winding road dropping through the forest — is where drivers unfamiliar with the area tend to lose time; we've done this route more times than we can count, day or night.

May through October is the season for swimming and beach time. Because loggerhead turtles nest on Çıralı beach between June and September, parts of the sand are kept dark and off-limits at night during that window — one more reason the Yanartaş walk makes a good evening plan instead. Winter is very quiet; many pansiyons close entirely, so check ahead if you're travelling outside the main season.

Since vehicle access inside Olympos is limited, it helps to tell us your hotel's exact name and whether it sits on one of the car-free lanes — we'll plan the drop-off point in advance so there's no confusion on arrival.
