Alanya Castle, the hilltop Seljuk fortress with the iconic Red Tower (Kızıl Kule) guarding the harbour below, is about a 25-30 minute taxi ride — the views over the Mediterranean from the castle walls are genuinely worth the trip. Cleopatra Beach and the neighbouring Damlataş Cave, said to help with respiratory conditions, sit close together in the same part of town, also a short taxi hop away. Dim River (Dimçay) and Dim Cave, Alanya's best-known stalactite cave, are another easy taxi ride — in summer, lunch at one of the trout restaurants along the cool river is a classic Alanya day out. Further inland, Sapadere Canyon is about 45-50 minutes by taxi and worth the drive: wooden walkways take you along ice-cold, crystal-clear water through the canyon, a welcome escape on a hot day. The Tuesday market in Mahmutlar is also just a short taxi ride from Kargıcak, good for fresh produce and local textiles.
