Karaincir is a low-key beach settlement near Akyarlar, off to one side of the peninsula away from the Bodrum and Gümbet crowds. Gümüşlük and the sunken ruins of ancient Myndos are a short hop up the coast, and on a clear day the Greek island of Kos sits right across the strait.

There is no rail line and no direct long-distance bus; the local dolmuş winds through every village and is no way to chase a flight 200 km away.
