Private Yacht Trip from Kaleiçi's Old Harbor
The departure point is the whole argument here. Kaleiçi's harbor is a small Roman-era basin cut into the base of the cliffs directly below the old city walls, and boats have worked this pocket of water for roughly two thousand years. It still behaves like a working harbor. You walk down through the old town's lanes, or take the glass elevator from the cliff top by Cumhuriyet Square, and the boat is at the quay in front of you. No shuttle transfer. No security gates, no long march down a pontoon. That is the difference between starting here and starting at Setur Antalya Marina on the west side of the bay — Setur is a proper modern facility, and it feels like one. Kaleiçi feels like Antalya.
The run along the cliffs, and the waterfall you can only see from the sea
Leaving the harbor mouth you get the view the postcards keep trying to catch: Hıdırlık Tower standing on the cliff edge above you, the ochre city walls, the Roman stonework of the breakwater. After that, it depends which way we point the bow.
East takes you along the falez — the limestone cliffs that wall the city off from the sea — to the Lower Düden waterfall at Lara, where the river drops straight off the cliff edge into salt water. There is no land viewpoint that gives you the front-on picture. From the park up top you only see the river disappear over the edge. From the deck you see the whole white column and the spray drifting off it in the wind. This is the single best photograph of the trip, and it only exists from the water.
West runs back past the harbor and opens onto Konyaaltı: the long pebble beach strip with the Beydağları range stacked up behind it. On a clear day the mountains recede in blue-grey layers and the whole bay reads in one look. Most private trips do both directions. If you want a longer day, we can talk about running southwest toward the pine coves near Phaselis, or arranging boarding at Kemer's marina under Tahtalı for guests staying down that coast. Different trip, different quote — just say so.
Light, season, and when to go out
Morning water is usually the calmest. If swimming matters to you, ask for a morning slot. For photographs the late afternoon wins: the sun drops toward the Beydağları and the light goes warm across the cliffs and the old walls. Sunset slots go first, every season, without exception. If your dates are fixed and sunset matters, start the quote conversation early.
July and August midday is honest, deck-frying heat. It is manageable — shade canopy, swim stops, cold drinks — but if you have any flexibility, book the edges of the day in high summer. May, June, September and October are the months I would pick for my own family. The sea stays warm well into autumn.
One more real thing. An afternoon breeze often builds and can put chop on the harbor mouth. Nothing dramatic. But if anyone in your group is prone to seasickness, morning is kinder, and a tablet taken before boarding works far better than one taken after.
Food, drinks, and why we agree the menu in advance
Everything on board is prepared per charter, which is exactly why the menu conversation happens before the day, not on it. Tell us during the quote what you actually want to eat — a full spread, a light meze table, fruit and cold platters, a celebration cake — and it will be on board, cold where it should be cold, and correct. Dietary requirements work the same way: named in advance, solved in advance. Alcohol is an optional package, not a default; if you want it, say so in the quote and we build it in. Deciding at the quay at boarding time is how people end up disappointed.
Boarding and the practical bits
Boarding is at the quay inside the old harbor. Come down on foot through Kaleiçi — allow extra time, the lanes are worth it — or use the panoramic elevator from the cliff top. Soft-soled shoes or bare feet on deck. The crew handles everything at the quayside; you step on, you sit down, you are done.
What to bring
- Swimwear, plus a light layer for the ride back — it cools off on the water after sunset
- High-SPF cream and a hat that will not fly off
- A waterproof pouch for your phone if you plan to shoot near the waterfall spray
- Motion-sickness tablets for anyone sensitive, taken before boarding
- Nothing else — food, drinks and towels are arranged as part of the charter
Getting your quote
Pricing is per charter and depends on date, group size, menu and route, so there is no fixed rate printed on this page. Tap the Get a Quote button and the WhatsApp line opens. Send your dates, how many of you there are, and anything special — a birthday, a proposal, a dietary need. You get a concrete offer back for your exact trip. And the sunset slots go to whoever asks first.
Frequently Asked Questions
We watch the marine forecast and contact you in advance if the day looks unworkable. The standard options are moving your charter to another date or slot, and if nothing suits, the solution is agreed with you directly over WhatsApp. Nobody goes out in weather the captain does not like.
