• Kumlubük Bay — the next cove over, reached by taxi in about 10 minutes over the hill road, or a short boat hop. Smaller and quieter than Turunç, good for a change of scene.
• Marmaris town — the castle-museum, Netsel Marina, the old bazaar and Uzunyalı beach promenade, roughly 20-25 minutes by taxi.
• İçmeler — another beach resort just past Marmaris, known for its long sandy stretch.
• Bozburun and Selimiye — quieter villages further round the peninsula, known for traditional gulet boat-building, about 40-50 minutes away and a genuinely good full-day taxi trip.
• Dalyan — the rock-cut king's tombs at Kaunos, the mud baths, and İztuzu Beach where loggerhead turtles nest; it's a longer run, but a worthwhile day out by taxi if you have the time.
