Nişantaşı City's and Profilo are similarly close, as is the unmistakable silhouette of Trump Towers İstanbul near Mecidiyeköy. In Harbiye, at the southern edge of Şişli, you'll find the Military Museum (Askeri Müze), known for its Mehter Ottoman military band performances on certain days, plus the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall and the Istanbul Congress Center — all under ten minutes from most central hotels. Taksim Square and İstiklal Street are typically a ten-to-fifteen-minute taxi away, the most practical option for an evening out. The Bosphorus-front grandeur of Dolmabahçe Palace is about fifteen to twenty minutes by taxi from Şişli hotels. For a walk or a run, Maçka Park is a short stroll or quick taxi from Nişantaşı, and the neighbourhood's own history is visible within walking distance too, at the Şişli Mosque and the Hagia Triada Greek Orthodox Church.

Mecidiyeköy, Gayrettepe and Esentepe form one of Istanbul's densest corporate corridors, packed with company headquarters, bank offices and plazas. The financial towers of Levent and Maslak, further north, are rarely more than a twenty-minute taxi ride away. That makes Şişli a genuinely practical base for business travellers who need to land, reach the hotel, and be in a meeting on a fixed schedule the next morning.
