The ground truth
32 Kabak Bay hotels sit in our pickup index, so your driver gets the entrance, not the district.
Kabak is one of the last unspoiled coves on Turkey's Turquoise Coast, tucked south of Ölüdeniz where the Lycian Way winds down through pine forest to the sea. This isn't a resort strip with high-rise hotels and packed sunbeds - it's the opposite. Kabak is known for treehouses, stone bungalows and simple camps built into the hillside above a quiet pebble beach, a place that has deliberately stayed low-key while the coast around it grew. Most visitors come here to hike, read, swim off the rocks and disconnect for a few days, not to party.
We're Antalya Transfer, a family-run transfer company based in Antalya, and we've been bringing guests from Dalaman and Antalya airports to quiet, slightly hidden bays like Kabak for years. Honestly, it's one of our favourite routes to drive.
Kabak really has two layers. Up on the cliff top sits Faralya village - a handful of view restaurants, small shops and pensions strung along the ridge. Down below, reached by a steep, winding road, is the bay itself: a pebble beach backed by the treehouses and bungalows the area is famous for. When you book a taxi with us, our driver takes you door-to-door, whether your accommodation is up in the village or down by the water - this descent is long and tiring to do on foot with luggage, so we'd steer you away from trying.
To the north are Ovacık and Ölüdeniz; to the south, the village of Alinca and the Lycian Way continuing along the coast. Kabak works as a natural overnight stop on that trail - guests who set off walking to Alinca at dawn, or take a boat to Butterfly Valley in the afternoon, are a common sight here.
Butterfly Valley (Kelebekler Vadisi) is a narrow canyon hidden below Faralya, reachable either by boat from Kabak beach or on foot down a steep path with fixed ropes. Unless you're a confident hiker, the boat is by far the easier way in.
Ölüdeniz and the Blue Lagoon are about a 30-35 minute taxi ride away. Babadağ, the mountain famous for paragliding, launches from just above it - plenty of our Kabak guests book an early transfer over for a morning flight.
Kayaköy, the abandoned Greek village, sits just off the road to Ölüdeniz - roughly 40 minutes by taxi and well worth the stop for anyone interested in the region's history.
Saklıkent Gorge is further out, around 1 to 1.5 hours by taxi, but the cold spring water and towering canyon walls make it a genuinely good escape on a hot summer day.
Fethiye town centre - the marina, the fish market, the Lycian rock tombs and the old amphitheatre - is about 50 minutes to an hour away, and a popular choice for shopping or a proper dinner out.
We run all of these as one-way or wait-and-return taxi trips; just let us know in advance.
Kabak doesn't have chain hotels, and that's the whole point of the place. We often take guests to Zakros Hotel Lykia and Casa di Pietra Kabak, both built in local stone, or to Faralya Botanica, known for its lush garden setting, and the family-run Faralya Punica Hotel. For something more unusual, Goat Bungalows offers wooden bungalows tucked into the hillside, while Lilith Pan Bungalows & Camping suits guests who want to stay close to nature without giving up comfort. Whichever one you've booked, just send us the name and location and our driver will bring you right to the entrance.
Dalaman Airport is the nearest gateway to Kabak, roughly 95-100 km away, and the drive takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. The last stretch past Ovacık is a narrow mountain and cliff road, which is why it takes longer than the distance alone would suggest - the views along the way make up for it, though. Our driver meets you at the terminal with a name board, helps with your bags, and takes you straight to your hotel door. The price is fixed in advance at a fixed fare confirmed at booking, with no surprise extras. We run the same meet & greet service for late-night arrivals too - the road down to Kabak is quieter after dark, and our drivers take it slowly and carefully.
Because the road into Kabak is narrow and full of switchbacks, we use small to mid-size vehicles rather than large coaches - it's both more comfortable and safer. If your flight is delayed, our driver tracks it and waits, no extra charge. Mobile signal can be patchy in Kabak itself, so we confirm contact details with you before you fly. We're happy to arrange your return transfer at the same time, if that's easier.
