Izmir Airport to Boyalık Beach private transfer

Boyalık is the stretch of coastline that sits between Çeşme town and Alaçatı, on the İzmir province's Çeşme peninsula, and honestly it's one of the nicest compromises on the whole peninsula. You get Çeşme's castle and marina a short taxi ride in one direction, Alaçatı's stone-house old town and windmills a short taxi ride in the other, and in between a long run of fine sand and shallow, clear turquoise water that used to be a quiet fishing cove and is now lined with resorts and beach clubs. It's calmer than Alaçatı's open surf bay and less built-up than central Çeşme, which is exactly why so many families and couples choose to base themselves here rather than in either town centre.

Boyalık is a Blue Flag beach with a gently shelving, shallow entry, which is one reason it's such a hit with families with small children. Part of the shoreline is open public beach, part belongs to the hotels and beach clubs that now line the road, so you can pick between a free sunbed spot or a proper day-club with cabanas and music if that's more your pace. There's no shortage of cafés, cocktail bars and seafood restaurants within a short walk, and the Çeşme peninsula's wine and artichoke traditions show up on a lot of the menus nearby. Plenty of guests split their stay - a beach day in Boyalık, an evening wandering Alaçatı's old streets, then the reverse the next day.

The best thing about staying in Boyalık is how central it is; almost everything worth seeing is a short taxi ride away in either direction.

• Alaçatı's old town and Kemalpaşa Street - stone houses, boutique shops and restaurants, a short taxi ride from Boyalık and the classic evening outing; the famous Tuesday market is worth timing your visit around.

• The ferry to Chios (Greece) from Çeşme's harbour - a popular day trip; the port is a quick taxi ride away, just remember your passport.
• Alaçatı's historic windmills on the hillside above town, a short taxi detour that rewards you with one of the best sunset views on the peninsula.
