Torba sits just north of Bodrum town, a quiet pine-covered bay that feels a world away from the nightlife of Bodrum centre or the crowded beach clubs of Gümbet. By day the bay is calm, with small boats moored along the shore; by evening, hotel terraces fill up for sunset views across the Gulf of Gökova. Nearby are the ruins of the Bodrum Amphitheatre and the remains of the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Down at Bodrum Marina, boat trips leave regularly for Karaada (Black Island), known for its mineral mud baths — a short taxi ride gets you to the harbour in time for a morning departure. Head north and you reach Türkbükü and Gölköy, Bodrum's more upscale bays known for boutique beach clubs and seafood restaurants, both a quick taxi hop from Torba. West along the coast, Yalıkavak Marina with its night bazaar, or Gümüşlük with the ruins of ancient Myndos and some of the best sunset views on the peninsula, are also easily reached by taxi from Torba.

This is where Torba works well: you get the quiet of the bay but a short taxi ride puts you in the middle of Bodrum's busier side whenever you want it. Bodrum Marina and the castle area are roughly 15-20 minutes away, Gümbet beach about the same. Türkbükü and Gölköy typically take 15-25 minutes, with the road winding past olive groves and pine forest. Yalıkavak is a little further, around 30-35 minutes. For evenings out in the centre, arranging a fixed-price taxi back to your hotel avoids the hassle of flagging one down late at night.
